KARSKI’The man of freedom”, the patron of Fundacja Edukacyjna Jana Karskiego will be in Cracow


The exhibition ‘’Jan Karski. The man of freedom” about the extraordinary and universal message of the Polish emissary which has already been in Vienne, Sofia, at the UN headquarter in New York, European Parliament in Brussels and Washington is going to be in Cracow. It is a city where Karski a few times was hiding during the occupation while working for Polish Underground State.

We kindly invite you to see the exhibition on July, 25 – 31 in Jewish Community Center at Miodowa St. 24. The event will be accompanied by the film projection “Karski and the Lords of Humanity” directed by Slawomir Grünberg on July, 25 and 27 at 8 p.m. and street art workshops on July, 28 and 29 at 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

It is a unique opportunity to learn the history of the Polish hero, Righteous Among the Nations, and honorary citizen of Israel. The background is the Polish history during the II World War and Holocaust in the Nazi German occupied Polish territory.

The organizer of the exhibition, film projection and street-art workshops in Cracow targeted at the tourists visiting Poland is Fundacja Edukacyjna Jana Karskiego in the frame of its programme “Karki My Hero”. The inauguration will take place on July, 25 in Cracow.

- The project ‘’Karski My Hero”  targeted at not only our compatriots, but also tourists, foreign students staying during the holidays in Poland will let them meet a brave and sensitive man which survived the hell, but did not give up – tells Ewa Junczyk-Ziomecka, the president of Fundacja Edukacyjna Jana Karskiego. – We think that it is also an offer for today when there are so many tensions and conflicts all around the world. Karski teaches us a solidarity with the victims, empathy and bravery towards human injustice and misery.

The programme ‘’Karski My Hero” will be presented in Warsaw, Wroclaw and Markowa. All interested people will have a chance to go footsteps of Jan Karski thanks to an interactive website in a form of map. The Internet project  will be active in a few weeks.


The entrance to all of the events is free.
