Directed by Sławomir Grünberg

The screening will take place at the High Synagogue on 38 Józefa Street.

The film lasts for 75 min.

In Polish with English subtitles.

Karski & the Lords of Humanity, a partially animated film, tells the story of the Polish underground courier, Jan Karski, during World War II. He worked to prevent the Holocaust by informing the Allied powers of Nazi crimes. Karski infiltrated both the Warsaw Ghetto and a Nazi transit camp, sending his dreadful eye-witness reports of the atrocities to Britain and the United States, hoping to shake the conscience of the powerful leaders, or, as he would later call them, the Lords of Humanity.

The screening will be followed by a meeting with the creators of the film: Sławomir Grünberg, Katka Reszke, and Dariusz Jabłoński.

The screening is organized by JCC Krakow as an accompanying event of the 25th Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow.

JCC Krakow would like to thank Mr. Wojciech Ornat for making the space of the High Synagogue accessible for the screening.
