The lecture focuses on the Nazi's plunder of artwork which belonged to Jews in Krakow and items from Krakow's synagogues. The machine of "securing" these artworks and the people who were engaged in stealing Jewish cultural property will also be discussed.

The lecture will be given by Yagna Yass-Alston, a graduate of Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA with a degree in History of Art and Museum Studies. Currently at the Institute of Jewish Studies of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, she is leading research on the history of Jewish art collectors in pre-war Krakow. She is also a member of the Association for Jewish Studies, New York; Association for European Jewish Studies, Oxford, UK; and the Polish Association for Jewish Studies in Krakow, Poland.
